Please note: Today’s article is about the NEVER BEFORE SEEN: BIG RICH TEXAS Season 2, Episode 1. It is a preview with a few spoilers. Granted, I will try to leave you hanging, and not give everything away. However, if you do not want to know now- Please WATCH it on FEBRUARY 19th on The STYLE NETWORK! WAIT! Just in case you are not going to read this article (please do) or you can not get enough of BIG RICH TEXAS please read at least the LAST paragraph where I reveal which BIG RICH TEXAS cast members I will be INTERVIEWING VERY SOON!!
To get started do you all remember where we left off LAST season on Big Rich Texas? Here is a quick RE CAP ON some of the women, and their daughters. I am choosing these notes because I find that they will play in to Episode 1 Season 2 directly…….
PAM- We left Pam arguing with Leslie, and questioning if she is who she says she is. Such as, is Leslie really a millionaire? Does she really own homes in all of these states? Pam is highly skeptical, and has no problem voicing her concerns to Leslie directly.
HANNAH- Hannah is Pam’s daughter and she headed back off to college.
CONNIE- Connie is Leslie’s distant “cousin,” but shares Pam’s point of view. Pam sent Connie on a “Re-Con” mission to Washington (Leslie’s home town) to dig up the dirt on Leslie.
LESLIE- Leslie was living in a HUGE home in Texas with her goddaughter Kalyn, who she trains for pageants. She was also set to invest in the ladies country club. However, most of the women left the season questioning her background, and character except for……
BONNIE- Bonnie is Leslie’s best friend out of all of the women. They have so much fun together etc. And Bonnie always sticks up for Leslie when the other women put her down. In fact Bonnie does not always see eye to eye with the other women at times herself. Although, Bonnie’s character nor background have EVER been in question as she is a scientist, highly educated, makes her own money, and more.
WHITNEY- Whitney is Bonnie’s 22 year old daughter (22 in Season 1). Whitney and Bonnie have a great relationship most of the time. And last we saw, Whitney was dating Leslie’s son (who happened to pop in to town from Washington) Tyler, and they were set to go to Washington together….
Now that we have caught up on LAST season, let’s get in to the NEW SEASON OF BIG RICH TEXAS!! Episode 1 of SEASON 2 is my favorite out of all the episodes so far. It is like watching a movie, and of course I did not want it to end. The show opens with several of the ladies practicing shooting because the club is having a big pheasant hunt coming up, which will be held by the NEW social chair of the club (ie. NEW cast member).
Connie is back from her so-called Re-Con mission that Pam sent her on, and she happened to go by the building the Leslie CLAIMS TO OWN. HOWEVER, there is a twist. Leslie’s first and last name are on the building, BUT there is no way that she is the owner. Connie has proof, and if you want to know what Connie found out you will have to watch the episode!
Now it is time to check in on Leslie herself. This season she traded in her HUGE Texas sized Mansion for a SMALL condo. Granted, she says she is going “green,” downsizing, and she even traded in her sports car for a Prius . Is this the hint of money problems, or is Leslie finding her “Washington roots,” and truly “going green?” Of course there is more to find out, and the ladies have their own opinions that I will note as this article unfolds. That being said, you will have to watch the episode for the full story.
The next major event that the ladies ALL go to is a cocktail party at the country club which Connie hosts. Rumors and discussions ensue that a FEMALE financial investor backed out at the last-minute. Of course all of the ladies suspect it is Leslie, but what do you think? At this moment we meet Deaynni who is set to work with Connie on planning parties for the club etc. Deaynni is the new cast member that I mentioned at the beginning of the article.
Normally when a new cast member comes in viewers can expect whispers and maybe even arguments over the new person by previous cast members. However, that was not the case this night at the club cocktail party. That being said, there was a HUGE argument between MOST of the cast. And at the end of the night Pam warns Bonnie that Leslie will “bite her” in the end. Are these words of an angry woman or do they prove to be true? Keep reading and of course watch the episode…
When Leslie gets home from the cocktail party / fight she proceeds to tell Kalyn that she has announced to everyone (which she did) that she is putting her efforts in to training her to become Miss America, and she is also going to open a Pilates Studio. Next, she requests that Kalyn enroll in to college immediately as it is a requirement for the pageant. I know that Leslie is a pageant coach, but Miss America is quite the goal. Is Kalyn in shape, and what are her thoughts? You will have to watch and see!
In the next scene Hannah and Whitney speak over SKYPE. Whitney is really upset with Tyler. Yes, it turns out that she did end up going to Washington with him. According to Whitney Tyler has been texting other girls, BUT something else far worse has been said. You as a viewer will be shocked as to what unfolds here!!!!
Next, there is a very sweet scene between Melissa (Maddie’s mom) and Kalyn. Melissa and Kalyn spoke by the pool at the club, and Kalyn confides in her. It turns out that Melissa had a similar upbringing to Kalyn. Which as we all remember was tough (she came from little money; her mother paid very little attention to her etc.). Kalyn tells Melissa that Leslie wants her to go to college. Melissa more than supports this decision. As she too questions Leslie’s motives, and perhaps sees college as something for Kalyn to fall back on. Lastly, perhaps Melissa sees college as a way out of Leslie’s care?
Suddenly Bonnie gets a frantic call from Whitney to pick her up from the air port. Bonnie was caught off guard because she has heard very little from Whitney since she left for Washington with Tyler. However, of course she agrees to get her (even against her husband’s advice- As Whitney is an adult). Once mother and daughter do meet Whitney gives Bonnie an earful, but still has yet to tell her the worst of it (the part that she told Hannah about Tyler). What will Bonnie do when she hears the news? What is the news? Stay tuned!
The following scenes are about Whitney trying to get Bonnie to listen to what happened between her and Tyler. It is not that Bonnie does not want to listen to Whitney, but she is having a hard time because Tyler is Leslie’s son. And as we know, Leslie is her good friend. Bonnie states that she wants to very much, “believe in friends.” In addition, Whitney has even done her own “re-con” mission on Tyler and his family. Yet, even with “proof” Bonnie (although suspicious now) is still having a difficult time believing anything negative about Leslie and her family.
Now, here is where it gets even more exciting because Pam gets involved, but actually in ways that you would not expect. Hannah informs her mom about what has gone on between Whitney and Tyler. Hannah proceeds to tell her mom the FULL story including the part that Whitney has yet to tell her mom. So what does Pam do with the news? Perhaps not quite what you may expect…
The last get together for all the ladies at the club is the pheasant hunt (hosted by the new cast member). Originally Bonnie decides not to go out on the hunt because Whitney was prohibited to go by Connie. Remember, she is on probation from the club for bringing her own hand gun last season? Due to the fact that Bonnie is now separated from Leslie (who went out to hunt) this sets the stage for Pam to deliver the ultimate news to Bonnie about Tyler (and of course Leslie). INCLUDING the part Whitney has yet to even tell her mother.
I would like to note that Pam approached Bonnie and Whitney in a CARING manor. She did NOT approach them to fight. I believe that she truly does not have a huge problem with Bonnie, and her family. Perhaps, trouble started when Leslie came to town? This is a question that the women (Bonnie and Pam) themselves even talk about.
Pam gently delivers the news to Bonnie about what went on between Whitney and Tyler in Washington (REMEMBER if you want to know the NEWS you will need to WATCH the show:) Now, one could say: ”that was the straw that broke the camels back.” Or maybe Pam was right? Leslie did “bite her” in the end? In any case, Bonnie took the news seriously, was NOT angry at Pam, and as she said: It was time to go “pheasant hunting.”
Next, all of a sudden a truck drove up on the 1st group of ladies who were pheasant hunting. In that group was Leslie. And she was surprised to see Bonnie and Whitney hop out of the truck. Wow! The show really got interesting. Bonnie war paint and all- You will have to finish watching Episode 1 SEASON 2!!!
